Housing Authority staffer had long criminal record

A fired contract worker with the Lafayette Housing Authority, who earned $82,155 through a federal disaster assistance program, has a criminal record that includes drug charges, battery and theft.

Wilson, who also is referred to in legal documents as Beatrice Porshe Evans and Beatrice Wilson Evans, is more widely known locally as radio personality Porsha Evans.

Wilson was among five case managers fired two weeks ago by the Lafayette Housing Authority board of commissioners after an independent audit that revealed numerous problems, some of them involving the work schedules and pay of the five case managers.
