Lafayette gets post-Oil Spill love in WSJ

Those who do not read the Wall Street Journal expect it to be dry and boring. I learned that was a myth about 20 years ago, when I had to subscribe as an economics student in Atlanta. And this recent piece on Lafayette suggests that the Journal is still journalism's best-kept secret insofar as skilled and colorful storytelling.

This recent dispatch takes a look at Lafayette "After-The-Spill." While it hits a few major culinary highlights -- Don's, Prejeans, etc., the writer apparently stumbled upon Nash's -- my favorite place to eat in Lafayette.

He could have done a little more on our great restaurants here and it would have been nice had he tipped people off on what the greater Acadiana area had to offer.

But anytime your town is written up by the country's largest publication -- boasting a daily circulation of more than 4 million -- that, my friends, is a good thing.

The writer ignores some of Acadiana's best treats -- including Bed & Breakfasts from throughout Acadiana -- and somehow does not plug the Blue Moon Saloon and Guest House. But, again, 4 million people is 4 million people.
